A Watercolor Journey: Festive Desserts Painting Course

Course description: Are you ready to further hone your watercolor practice? In this 4-week watercolor course, you will be painting one festive dessert every week for four weeks. Each week, you will be using different watercolor techniques like wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry on dry painting, layering, blending, as well as applying underpainting to make your watercolor paintings look delectably realistic. You will also learn how to use white gouache paint to add shine and sparkle to your watercolor paintings.

What to expect:
- In each week of the course, the session will start with a short lesson and demo on the techniques that we will be using that day
- Students will transfer a sketch from a reference outline image onto their watercolor paper using tracing paper
- The instructor will share which colors to use and mix to achieve the colors of the reference image while encouraging the students to try mixes of their own
- Students will work on a festive dessert painting each week using the basic techniques of watercolor painting

- How to paint realistic festive desserts using watercolor
- How to paint neatly while avoiding muddy colors
- How to use white gouache effectively to add shine and sparkle to watercolor paintings
