On December 12, 2025, Happy Hands Pottery & Art Studio gathered as a community to celebrate everyone who took part in our workshops and events throughout the year, while also warmly welcoming newcomers into the studio space. Each December, we host a special event just before the holidays as a way to reflect, connect, and express gratitude.

Before the night began, the studio was transformed with holiday-themed décor that blended arts and crafts, creating a festive, inviting atmosphere. As people entered the space, there was an immediate sense of excitement and creative energy ready to be shared.
We kicked off the night with a lively icebreaker game of People BINGO. The goal was simple: get people interacting and learning about one another. Prompts ranged from pottery- and art-related questions to more lighthearted ones, like finding someone who has a dog.
Participants moved around the room, chatting and laughing, until one lucky winner completed their card and received a small ceramic prize—a handmade chopstick holder. After the game, we watched a video created by the marketing team that highlighted the many workshops and events hosted throughout the year, offering a moment of reflection and appreciation.

The evening continued with a show-and-tell session featuring both instructors and students sharing their recent work. Anna, one of our pottery instructors, showcased an intricate vase adorned with layered circular elements, drawing admiration for its detail and craftsmanship.

Tinla, one of our students, shared a collection of soft pastel drawings she created during workshops at Happy Hands. More pieces followed, each accompanied by thoughtful questions, shared insights, and inspired conversation. The room buzzed with curiosity and creative pride.

One of our instructors, Emily, sharing illustrations she created
What’s a maker’s event without painting? After show and tell, we transitioned into painting tiles for our community tile collection, which will eventually be displayed together as a shared artwork. Each participant received two tiles to paint freely.

Painting offered a grounding, mindful moment that creates an opportunity to focus, release stress, and be fully present. People experimented with color and linework, drawing inspiration from holiday themes, animals, and personal symbolism. Soft conversation and quiet concentration filled the studio as brushes moved across the tiles.
To close out the evening, we gathered everyone’s names and randomly selected raffle winners. This year’s prizes included:

The raffles added a fun, celebratory ending to an already joyful night.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us with openness, kindness, patience, and creativity. Nights like these remind us why community-centered art spaces matter so much.
