Workshop Overview

In this one day intermediate workshop, you will learn how to let go of control and let gentle strokes paint the whole picture with gouache.  We will be painting papayas with gouache impressionist style – instead of aiming for precise and careful strokes, you will go for big and bold ones.

📚 What students will learn:

• Gouache basics – How gouache works (opacity, layering, rewetting) and how it differs from watercolour so you can use it with confidence.
• Impressionist style painting – Big and bold brush strokes, intentional with colors and values
• Loose gouache painting – Building layers instead of blending and learning the proper way to hold the brush for this style of painting
• Produce painting – Mix vibrant, juicy colors, and learn to paint produce that look fresh and moist
