For Experienced Potters – Studio Pass : $280
This pass is perfect if you’re:
– An intermediate or advanced potter
– An intermediate potter who’s completed several pottery classes
– Ready to start a personal project or explore wheel throw independently
What’s Included:
– 4 sessions, each 3 hours long
– Use of studio equipment, tools, and materials (in-studio use only)
– Clay (10kg sleeve included) and glazes provided
– One shelf provided to store your work
– One kiln shelf for bisque + glaze firing (cone 6 smooth white stoneware)
Important Info:
– No instruction is provided — this is not a class
– Light supervision only
– You must have prior pottery experience

How do I book a Wheel Throw Studio Pass?

Can I arrive early for my class or session?
Please do not enter the studio before your booked start time, even if the door is open.
What do I need to bring with me?
Bring your own:
– Pottery tool kit (must include: metal rib, needle tool, round sponge, wooden trimming stick, loop tools, wire cutter)
– Apron
– Towels
We provide:
– 1 bag of clay (10kg) per Studio Pass
– Tools for use during class (not for borrowing or taking home)
**Note:** Outside clay is not allowed. Extra clay can be purchased if needed.
What is a Studio Pass and who is it for?
Studio Passes are for experienced potters who work independently.
No instruction is provided. You must have completed prior classes or have equivalent experience.
How do I clean up properly after my session?
Please use the last 20 minutes of your 3-hour session for cleaning.
Before you leave, make sure to:
– Wash all tools and equipment
– Wipe down your table with a **damp cloth** (never brush clay to the floor)
– Mop up any spills (clay, glaze, slip)
– Avoid sanding bisqueware (use a wet grinding stone instead)
– Leave your space as clean as (or cleaner than) you found it
What happens to leftover clay?
You can:
– Leave unused clay for studio recycling (do not take others’ recycled clay)
– Take it home – but it cannot come back into the studio
What are the wheel clean-up steps?
After using the wheel or handbuilding tools:
1. Clean splash pan, wheel head, and surrounding area
2. Sanitize tools and return them properly
3. Wipe stool if needed
4. Clean and dry bats after removing your work
5. Cover and label your pieces clearly
6. Turn off the wheel
7. Label all work with first name, last name initial, and date – we won’t fire unmarked pieces
Can I use my own glazes?
No. Only studio-provided glazes may be used.
– We offer over 10 colors
– Underglazes are optional and may be brought from home
– Shake containers before use and open over water
– Use one brush per color (no glaze mixing)
– Leave 1/8″ of the bottom unglazed
– Clean brushes and glaze containers after use
What’s included with firing?
Your Studio Pass includes:
– 1 full kiln shelf (1 bisque + 1 glaze firing)
Extra firing fees apply for:
– Larger pieces
– Additional shelf space
We only fire pieces made entirely in the studio. Technicians may refuse to fire unsafe or poorly constructed work.
We’re not responsible for any cracks, warping, or glaze issue.
Note: Damaged kiln shelves or equipment due to glaze misuse will incur replacement fees.
When and how do I pick up my finished work?
– You’ll receive an email when your glazed work is ready
– Pick-up begins 3 weeks after your final session
– Pieces will be held for 4 weeks, then discarded
– Pick up your work during studio hours — don’t forget your confirmation email.
